This is part 3 of a series of blog posts aimed at beginners who want to create their own blog site.
If you haven't read the previous sections already, check out part 1 and then part 2 before reading this section.
In this section, we will configure access to Netlify CMS, which will provide a simple method for creating and updating blog posts. Once you are able to access the CMS, your website is ready to go for publishing content!
In order to log in to the newly deployed site's CMS, you will need to head over to the "Identity" tab in the Netlify dashboard. Click the "Invite users" button on this tab to add your email address as an authorized user for the CMS. Netlify will send you an email to create a password.
Once your email and password are set up in Identity, you can head over to
yourdomainname.com/adminin a browser and log in with those credentials. You should be greeted by a screen which allows you to point and click to create, update, and delete content and articles on your new site:
After you make some changes and save, you can see a new "build" triggered in your Netlify dashboard. Once the build is finished, the live website will be updated with the new content automatically, and anyone with internet access will be able to view and interact with your content!
I hope you enjoyed this blog post series and found it useful!
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me using the form on my site, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
Additionally, if any of the methods outlined here change, I am happy to take corrections via the form as well, and will do my best to update these posts to keep them accurate.
